RSS test

Just an RSS test, no real content, ne'ermind…

Not quite neglected...

Okay, so it's probably no news that my blog in Bulgarian has seen a bit more writing than this one - there have been a couple of things in the past few months or maybe a bit more that I've only written in Bulgarian and have not translated into English so far… or maybe, looking at the link farm in that last sentence, "a couple" is a bit of an understatement - it would seem that most of the things I've written there have not really been translated. Nope, this is not yet another one of those "I'm not writing here cause I've nothing to say but that don't really mean I've nothing to say, just I don't feel like saying it and stuff" entries - just a mild statement of wonder, even on my part, that it seems it's a bit easier for me to write in Bulgarian (heh... big surprise there, eh?), and so this blog may see fewer updates than the one over there in the future, too. There. You've been warned. Now go do something productive ;)

Sometimes things break a little...

Yep. For those who have noticed that this blog sometimes produced funny results, like you post a comment and the whole entry page disappears for an hour, the reason is simple: the filesystem holding this blog was pretty much full, and the attempt to rebuild the pages effectively removed them.

Sorry about that - I've tried to free some space on this filesystem, and I'll see if a way can be found to avoid such situations in the future :)

Fixed the comments RSS feed dates

As arved pointed out a couple of days ago, my comments RSS feeds were just so slightly wrong: the date displayed for the comments was the entry date, not that of the actual comment. Thanks to a Chasing Coffee post which led me to one on Michael Hanscom's blog, I've fixed the problem now - this blog's and the gallery's comment feeds display the date properly now.

Thanks to everyone involved! And yeah, I know I really should update the gallery blog more often...

That's my version, and I'm stickin' to it!

The time has come to unleash my blogs' MovableType templates upon the world :) You can now browse them online, or, if you have some sense, fetch them via anonymous CVS.

Notes blog

I have a notes blog now. It ought to be updated a bit more often than this one, but this is no promise ;)

Comments RSS feed

Something that many people, including myself, find extremely useful when reading others' blogs: an RSS feed for the last 45 comments made to any of the blog entries. Enjoy :) Thanks to Jeremy and revjim for the template (slightly modified here).

Now if only I could find a way to build per-entry RSS feeds... Of course, this will be trivial to do with at most half an hour's worth of Perl, but I guess I'm kind of lazy right now, so it might have to wait.

Oh, and if anybody's wondering, the template itself is basically revjim's work, with two changes to the two MTComments tags: upped the number of comments to 45 (the lastn attribute) and reversed the sort order (added a sort_order="descend" attribute).

Initiation (finally ;)

Hello world! :)

Well, well... To quote a favorite fiction character, "Sing ho - for the life of the"... no, not "bear", more like "blog". Anyway, took me long enough, but here it is, finally - my very own blog!

It is probably somewhere around this time that I should lay out some kind of a plan for the future - but I won't. Really. No, not even to tell you what kind of blogging this will be, for I have absolutely no idea :) Random thoughts, rants, and maybe even - if inspiration should strike - something really worth writing down... although that last point is highly doubtful.

Well, here it is. Make what you want of it. Or don't.

G'luck,
Peter
